The HyperScan is a console created by Mattel and was released on October 23, 2006.
The console utilized an radio-frequency identification (RFID) scanner to load characters from special "cards" that were sold as separate booster packs. Despite its anticipated success, the HyperScan received a lot of negative feedback for its lack of performance and the quality of the games released for it. The console ultimately only received five games (three platformers and two fighting games, three of which were Marvel licenses) before it was discontinued.
