It was released worldwide on August 24, 2015 for Windows, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A port for the Nintendo Switch, alongside Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, was released on May 22, 2018.

The "data.pie" file is actually a .zip file with a different extension, so tools such as 7-Zip should work fine. The file in question in the Windows/Steam port requires a password in order for a tool to extract its contents.
