Alien Hominid

Alien Hominid is an independently developed run and gun video game developed by The Behemoth. The game was developed from an Adobe Flash game originally released on Newgrounds in August 2002. O3 Entertainment released the game for PlayStation 2 and GameCube in North America in 2004, whilst ZOO Digital Publishing released the game in Europe for PlayStation 2, Xbox, mobile phones and Gizmondo in 2005. A port for the Game Boy Advance, co-developed by Tuna Technologies, was also released in Europe in 2006. This article documents the European Game Boy Advance release.

How to rip with Bizhawk (GBA)

You can use the layer removal feature, by loading the ROM, then in Bizhawk's menu, going to GBA - Settings, and turning on and off the layers.

You can also use the GBA GPU Viewer.

How to rip directly from the ROM (GBA)

To do this, you can use a tile editor or graphics editor to do so. Use something like YY-CHR. Once you have found the correct graphics, export with the correct palette.

Examples for ripping (GBA)

If you wanted to rip the cutscenes for example, make only the Background 0 layer visible, as all cutscene sprites are located on Background 0. If you were ripping Alien Hominid, Alien Hominid in the UFO, the gunshots, FBI, KGB, etc. you would need to view the Sprite Layer. Find the Sprites tab in the GPU Viewer, or only enable the Sprite Layer.
