Platform: Wii

Sonic and the Secret Rings is a 2007 platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Wii. It is a spin-off to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the first title in the franchise for the system, and follows Sonic the Hedgehog's quest to stop an evil genie named the Erazor Djinn. In addition to the basic platforming gameplay of previous Sonic titles, Secret Rings uses a system of experience points and levels, as well as special moves that are unlocked via leveling up.

File Formats

  • .one (General archives)
  • .txd (Texture archives)
  • .afs (Voice archives, containing .adx audio)
  • .dat (Sound packs)
  • .gvr (Textures)
  • .gno (Models)

Tools

  • Puyo Tools for browsing/extracting .one/.afs archives, and viewing/converting textures.
  • Skyth's xno2dae for ripping models. It can convert a GNO file to a DAE file. The variations of the formats are also supported. (like XNO, ZNO, INO etc.)
    • The models for the party mode characters, stored in the Now folder, are slightly different. See these forum posts for more information: 1 2
  • DKDave's GCAX script for the extraction of sounds in GCAX audio (.dat) packs. You can play them back in foobar2000 if the .txth is in the same directory as the files, and you have the vgmstream plugin.
