Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a game engine originaly made by Macromedia which notably used vector for its graphics. The engine would be mostly used in browser games and being used for the middleware Scaleform GFx.
The browser extension used for running Adobe Flash would later be discontinued in 2020.
File Formats
- SWF - Shockwave Flash.
- GFX - Scaleform GFx.
Emulators
- Adobe Flash Player - An official projector for viewing SWF files. As it is official, it is the most accurate.
- Newgrounds Player - Modified version of the Adobe Flash Player used to run Newgrounds games.
- Ruffle - The emulation is mostly good and available as a browser extension although it has to load before actually starting.
Ripping Tools
- JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler can inspect file contents and export assets into PNG, SVG and WAV.
