Super Mario Run is an auto-running, platform game developed by Nintendo EPD, DeNA, and SRD and published by Nintendo. It was released on iOS devices in 2016, with the iOS version releasing in South Korea the following year on February 1. It was then released worldwide for Android devices on March 22 and March 23 in 2017.

It was the first mainline Mario game, as well as the first Mario game in general, to be released on mobile devices. Additionally, it is the second Nintendo game overall to be released on mobile devices (with Miitomo being the first), one of the first Nintendo games to use the Unity engine, and the oldest mobile Nintendo game that still remains active to this day.

Engine

Super Mario Run runs on Unity. However, the additional .unity3d files the game downloads onto the player's device are encrypted and must be decrypted to be viewable/extractable.

Ripping Tools

AssetStudio

AssetStudio can view and extract content from Unity games, including Super Mario Run.

unstir.py

A Python script created by Treeki simply called "unstir.py" can decrypt the game's encrypted .unity3d files. It can be downloaded here. Since it's a Python script, it requires Python to be installed for it to work (Python 3 should work).

According to LolHacksRule on the GitHub Gist page, the files can be batch-decrypted with the following command: forfiles /s /m *.unity3d /C "cmd /c python unstir.py @file
