TIM is an image format commonly used in PlayStation games. It can usually be identified by .tim extension.

The value of the first four bytes of the TIM file is always 0x10000000.

Tools

PSicture

PSicture can search for the TIM images in any given file. Found images can be exported to .BMP format.

Noesis

Noesis allows your to convert TIM files into many standard image formats and includes a batch option. Also Noesis treats the black background in sprites as transparent.
