Blazing Renderer (sometimes abbreviated as BRender) is a 3D game engine made by Argonaut Games (formerly known as Argonaut Software) that was first released in 1994. It supported PC, MacOS, MS-DOS, FM Towns, OS/2, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.

On May 2022, the engine's source code was released to the public.

File Formats

(Games may use custom formats instead of the ones found here.)

  • ACT - Actor.
  • DAT - Mesh.
  • MAT - Material.
  • PIX - Graphics.
  • PAL - Palette.
  • TAB - Color Map.

Ripping Tools

  • Flummery - Able to view Blazing Renderer's models and export them to FBX. While the models look correct in the program, some models may export incorrectly.
