Was fairly popular early in its life due to the lower cost however the Amiga quickly over took its popularity all down to lowering the price, bundles and Shadow of the Beast. Ripping Tools

Maptapper is a Windows application used to rip graphics and maps from Amiga games. It can also read Atari ST games and has rudimentary support for Commodore 64 games as well. Both the official website and the built-in help file have a basic tutorial on how to rip sprites.
